Information for:

Exit Exams (Major Field Test, ACAT-History, and Undergraduate Psychology)

What are Exit Exams?

Exit exams are computer-based comprehensive undergraduate and M.B.A. outcomes assessments designed to measure the critical knowledge and understanding obtained by students in a major field of study.  Undergraduate Biology, Business, Chemistry, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Political Science majors and MBA graduate candidates are administered the Major Field Test (MFT), respectively.  History majors are administered the ACAT.  Undergraduate Psychology majors are administered the Psychology Exit Exam.

Exit Exams are generally scheduled for April, July and November, just prior to each graduation. However, fall 2020 Exit Exams will be given during the month of October. Testing dates are provided in advance to each dean and department head, so interested students should check with those offices in their major area of study

There is no student cost for an MFT, ACAT, or Psychology exit exam.

The health and wellness of Angelo State University’s students, faculty and staff are top priority. In order to limit the spread of COVID-19 and safeguard the health and well-being of our campus community, the ASU Testing Center is taking all necessary measures recommended by local and state officials and the Center for Disease Control.

Per a policy set by the Texas Tech University System, face coverings are required to be worn by the entire campus community while on campus or in university facilities. This includes students, faculty, staff and campus visitors.

A wellness screening is required of everyone prior to being admitted for testing. ASU students, complete the COVID-19 Wellness Screening in RamPort.  Be prepared to show wellness screening completion badge and valid picture identification when checking in for testing.
