ASU Offers Saturday German Classes for Elementary Students

Free German language classes will be offered at Angelo State University for area first- and second-graders on Saturday afternoons, Feb. 3 through April 6.

The classes will be taught by Dr. Elisabeth-Christine Muelsch, a member of the ASU Department of Modern Languages and a native of Germany.

The classes will begin at 1 p.m. in Room 121 of the Academic Building, 2502 Dena Drive, and are free of charge. Each class session will last an hour.

The free classes continue a program started by Dr. Otto Tetzlaff, retired head of the ASU Department of Modern Languages, to interest children in the study of foreign languages.

"We offer the class to encourage young students to learn a foreign language," Muelsch said.

The only requirement for the program is that parents deliver and pick up their children on time. For more information about this class, please contact Muelsch or the Department of Modern Languages at 942-2245.
