ASU Education Honor Society Inducts 46 New Members

Angelo State University’s Mu Gamma chapter of the Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) international honor society for education has inducted 46 new members for the fall 2011 semester.

San Angeloans inducted into KDP include Hattie Campbell, April Cheatham, Amber Deremo, Dana Marie Feathers, Leonela Gallegos, Mandi Michelle Garcia, Margaret Rose Graham, Sterling DeSymber Knittel, Heather Marie Maher, Natalie Rhea Martinez, Jerrika Mathews and Monica Stapleton.

Also joining the group are Lauren Ashley Schoonover of Abilene, Tina Lavette McCombs of Anson, Misty Nicole Hise of Aspermont, Jennifer Leleux of Beaumont, Allegra Quintero and Melissa Rose Quintero of Big Lake, Sloan Brianne Davis of Big Spring, Yessenia Nicole Tobias of Brownwood, Jordan Michelle Hicks of Camp Wood, Caitlin E. Walker of College Station, Jennifer Nicole Sims of De Leon and Kendra Linn Larson of El Paso.

Also, Monica Hillin of Fair Oaks, Kristin Leigh Cook of Granbury, Casey Dlynn Williamson of Hermleigh, Katherine Monroe of Hewitt, Stephanie Smith of Kempner, Rebecca Gavin of Kerrville, Chantel D. Jackson of Killeen, Trevor Kain Tomlin of Marble Falls, Courtney Renee Butts of Mertzon, Amanda Leigh Thomas of Olney, Dianna Perez Casillas and Cristy Dominguez Galindo of Ozona, Bryan Scott Castro and Cory Stevens of Pflugerville, Cheyann D’Nae Powell of Plainview and Tatiana Aguayo of Roscoe.

Other inductees include Kyla Stone and Carolyn D. Simon of San Antonio, Abigail Sue Mitchell of Slaton, Danielle Christine Walior of Sweetwater, Holly Beth Frazier of Taylor and Kacie Ann Easley of Temple.

To qualify for KDP, undergraduate students must be at least a sophomore with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher in 12 or more hours of education courses. Graduate students can qualify with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher after a minimum of 12 hours of professional education courses.

KDP was founded in 1911 at the University of Illinois to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching. There are 582 chapters with a total international membership of more than 45,000.
