Donald Glover, who plays “Troy Barnes” on the NBC TV series “Community,” will bring his standup comedy routine to Angelo State University’s Club Café on Wednesday, March 30, in the Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.

The 7:30 p.m. performance will be in the University Center’s C.J. Davidson Conference Center. ASU student tickets will go on sale Wednesday, March 23, for $2 each at the University Center Information Desk from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets will be available to the public for $5 each from March 28-30. Any remaining tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis at the door.

The first 120 audience members to arrive at the show will receive a free Club Café coffee mug. Coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate, cookies, brownies and other refreshments will be served.

Besides his work on “Community,” Glover also was a writer for another NBC series, “30 Rock,” where he developed the character “Toofer” and did most of the writing for actor Tracy Morgan in the show’s first season. He was nominated for the Writers Guild of America award for Best Comedy Series for his work on the third season of “30 Rock.” He also won the Rising Comedy Star Award at the 2010 Just for Laughs festival.

Glover is part of the comedy sketch group Derrick Comedy, and performed a stand-up special on Comedy Central in 2010. He also works in the music industry producing his own music as “mcDJ” in the electronic/remix style on his albums “Love Letter From an Unbreakable Bottle” and “Utterances of the Heart.” He also performs rap music onstage as “Childish Gambino.”
