ASU ROTC Cadets Receive Prestigious Air Force Assignments

Two cadets from Angelo State University’s Air Force ROTC Detachment 847 have received word that coveted duty assignments await them in the U.S. Air Force once they graduate.

Earlier this week, Cadet Col. Cristina Rangel was notified that she is one of only 11 cadets nationwide selected for duty in the Office of Special Investigations (OSI), and Cadet Maj. Todd Bryan was notified of his selection for pilot training.

A senior criminal justice major from San Angelo, Rangel is scheduled to graduate and receive her Air Force commission as a second lieutenant in August of 2011. Upon completing the Air and Space Basic Course (ASBC) at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Ala., she will head to the Air Force Special Investigations Academy at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Ga.

Bryan, a senior psychology major from Taylor, is scheduled to graduate and receive his commission in May of 2011. Upon completing the ASBC, he will enter pilot training at either Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, Laughlin AFB in Del Rio, Vance AFB in Eden, Okla., Columbus AFB in Columbus, Miss., or Whiting Field in Milton, Fla.
