ASU Greeks Raise Funds for Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council
Several Angelo State University fraternities and sororities joined together to raise $1,400 on Thursday, April 15, during a money drive for charity as part of their annual spring Greek Week activities.
The proceeds, which will be donated to the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council of the Concho Valley, came from a competition where money was placed in jars affixed with photos of each organization’s representative. The winner had to kiss a frog during the chili cook-off at the conclusion of Greek Week.
A check will be presented to the council board on Tuesday, April 27.
Sigma Kappa sorority representative Luz Castillo garnered the most money to win during the fundraising event. Other groups participating in the event were Alpha Phi Omega, Association of Mexican American Students (AMAS), Delta Zeta sorority, Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
