ASU Student Research Projects on Display Nov. 24

Angelo State University graduate and undergraduate students will present the results of 45 different research projects during the eighth annual Student Research Showcase Tuesday, Nov. 24, in the ASU Houston Harte University Center, 1910 Rosemont Drive.

The showcase will run from noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 24 in the University Center’s C.J. Davidson Conference Center and is open free to the public. It will feature table and poster displays on the 45 research projects conducted by students under the supervision of faculty mentors. The students will also be available to discuss their projects with campus members and community visitors. Refreshments will be served.

In all, 55 graduate and undergraduate students participated in the projects under the direction of 25 faculty members representing all five of ASU’s academic colleges. The annual event highlights the breadth and complexity of ASU student research, and the 45 projects is the most ever entered in the showcase. Twenty-four of the projects were completed by graduate students and 21 by undergraduates.

The projects represent research from the academic departments of Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Curriculum and Instruction, English, Management and Marketing, Mathematics, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Physics, and Psychology, Sociology and Social Work.

The Student Research Showcase is sponsored by the ASU College of Graduate Studies and Office of Sponsored Projects. It recognizes students’ contributions to the universal body of knowledge through their research and creative activities. It also provides student interaction with community members who are interested in research activities on campus.
