ASU Wind Ensemble Goes on ‘Joy Ride’

Angelo State University’s Wind Ensemble will take concertgoers on a “Joy Ride” for its spring performance Sunday, April 26, at 3 p.m.

The concert will be in the University Auditorium inside the Mayer Administration Building, 2601 W. Ave. N, and is open free to the public.

Featured selections will come from the Wind Ensemble’s spring 2009 tour and include “Ride” by Samuel Hazo, “Canterbury Chorale” by Jan Van der Roost and “Noisy Wheels of Joy” by Eric Whitacre. ASU faculty pianist Dr. Eleanor Elkins will be a featured performer with her rendition of George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue.” Joining the program with more selections will be the ASU Chamber Winds.
