ASU Education Honor Society Inducts 26 New Members

Angelo State University’s Mu Gamma Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, an international education honor society, inducted 26 new members at its initiation banquet earlier this month.

Joining the group were Lauren Leigh Henke of Fredericksburg, Bridget Soltero of Friona, Veronica Puente of Harlingen, Laura Kathleen Jack of Kerrville, Chelsea E. Newell of Knickerbocker, Dustin Dwayne Laqua of Mason, Kaylee Kidwell of Midland, Erica Venegas of Ozona, Ashley Elizabeth Horsburgh of Pecos, Kelli Dionn Heckman of Post, Raeanne Elyse Brewer of Rochelle and Jordan P. Cox of Rotan.

Also, Jessica Baker, Tara Casta�eda, Tamara Gonzales, Valerie Nicole Moos, Elizabeth Proff and Joshua Tindell, all of San Angelo, Heather Michelle-Lee Knox, Karyn Michelle McCarty,and Alison Michelle Young of San Antonio, Raelye Taylor Self of Slaton, Nell Marie Aschenbrener Dennis of Spring Branch, Liz Marie Rascon of Vega and Jessica Rae Speck of Wall.

To qualify for Kappa Delta Pi, undergraduate students must be at least sophomores with cumulative grade-point averages of 3.0 or higher in 12 or more hours of education courses. Graduate students qualify with cumulative GPAs of 3.25 or higher after a minimum of 12 hours of professional education courses.

Kappa Delta Pi was founded in 1911 at the University of Illinois to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching. There are 582 chapters at North American colleges and universities alone, with a total international membership of more than 45,000.
