Applied Psychology Graduate Program Admission Requirements
Our program has competitive admissions. We evaluate applications based on a combination of undergraduate GPA and perceived fit with our program’s mission.
Students are welcome to apply for admission regardless of their undergraduate major. Those who have fewer than 18 credit hours of undergraduate psychology are required to complete a graduate leveling course that provides training in the foundational areas of psychology.
Students must have a cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher to be accepted to the program. If a student has under a 3.0 undergraduate GPA, then a graduate GPA may be substituted to gain admission to the program, but the student must have at least nine graduate hours and a 3.0 or higher graduate GPA.
We require the following for admission:
- All college and university transcripts
- Essay of 500 words or less explaining why you chose the applied psychology program at Angelo State University and how you think it will help you meet your career goals
- Hold a bachelor’s degree. Students must have a cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher or at least nine graduate hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
