Department: Department of Physical Therapy, Doctor of Physical Therapy Program The Commission on Accreditation in Physical Education

The ASU physical therapy program was granted full accreditation by the commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) on October 30, 2002. the accredited program was initially for a Master of Physical Therapy, but has since converted to a Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.), which gained final approval through the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board on January 29, 2009. The first D.P.T. class matriculated in the summer of 2009 with the first graduation on May 12, 2012. Current accreditation is in place until June 30, 2018. |

The Social Work program in the department of Social Work at ASU recently attained their accreditation with the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). The CSWE is the sole accrediting agency for Social Work in the US. Current accreditation is in place until 2024. |

Angelo State University’s Department of Health Science Professions is seeking accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) for its master of Athletic Training. Once the program is accredited, graduates will be eligible for the Board of Certification (BOC) examination. |

Angelo State University is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music. NASM, founded in 1924, is an organization of schools, conservatories, colleges and universities with approximately 647 accredited institutional members. It establishes national standards for undergraduate and graduate degrees in music as well as other credentials.

The Norris-Vincent College of Business has been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) since 1992. Degree Programs offered in the Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance and the Department of Management and Marketing are accredited by ACBSP. This accreditation indicates that ASU meets or surpasses national standards for qualified faculty, library resources, international business and ethics curriculum, and job placement for its graduates in these disciplines. Degree Programs offered in the Department of Aerospace Studies are not accredited by the ACBSP. |

Angelo State University is accredited to recommend candidates for state educator initial certification and for additional certification. Annually pass rates on state certification examinations are examined for continuing accreditation and all programs are evaluated every 5 years. Angelo State University’s programs were last evaluated in the fall of 2009. |
