Texas Teacher Certification
Our Texas Teacher Certification program is designed for those who have a bachelor’s or master’s degree and want to receive certification to teach in middle or high school.
You will receive certification after successfully completing the 24 credit hours of the program and passing the required TExES exams. All certification candidates must pass two certification examinations - one in the content area and one in pedagogy and professional responsibilities.

This certificate program is intended for those who want to become a teacher at the middle or high school level.
Program Highlights
All courses offered in the plan are delivered in an online format for your convenience.
Most students complete the program in 12 months or less, depending on course availability, start date and number of courses taken each semester.
Our department holds state (Texas Education Agency) and national (NCATE) accreditation.

- All college or university transcripts
Prerequisites
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Undergraduate GPA of at least a 2.75, or a 2.75 GPA in the last 60 hours of your degree
