Students will build this foundation through developing expertise in biological, social, and cultural factors that impact mental health and wellness to diverse populations in various counseling-related professions.  Exploration in areas of lifespan development, individual counseling, group counseling, school and community counseling, trauma, and mental health concerns will also prepare students for success in their chosen counseling field. This master’s degree in mental health and wellness counseling does not lead to licensure or certification but places students on track for broad integration of mental health and wellness counseling concepts into their chosen field.  Through the completion of this versatile degree, students will possess a strong foundation to deliver ethical and culturally-competent support for individuals, organizations, and communities in order to advocate for change by promoting and normalizing mental health and wellness practices.
