New Adult Education Transfer Agreement with Goodfellow AFB
November 13, 2020
Angelo State University has signed a partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Goodfellow Air Force Base that will allow Air Force personnel who have earned an associate degree to transfer their credits into a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (B.A.A.S.) degree program at ASU with a new specialization in adult education.
Per the MOU, those personnel with an associate degree can transfer up to 60 academic course credits into ASU’s B.A.A.S. degree specialization in adult education. This means that those students could be halfway or more toward earning a B.A.A.S. degree when they enroll at ASU.
Angelo State’s B.A.A.S. degree program is specifically designed as an option for students who have already earned as associate degree. The new specialization in adult education will be maintained by the ASU College of Education and is accepting students for this coming spring semester. Registration for the spring semester is currently open.
The MOU was developed in conjunction with the 17th Training Group at Goodfellow AFB. While it is designed specifically for Air Force personnel who earned their Associate of Applied Science degree from the Community College of the Air Force, personnel with associate degrees from other community colleges are also eligible.
Angelo State’s B.A.A.S. degree programs are also open to anyone who has earned an associate degree. Specializations now include:
- B.A.A.S. with adult education specialization
- B.A.A.S. with computer science specialization
- B.A.A.S. with criminal justice specialization
- B.A.A.S. with homeland security specialization
This marks the second MOU transfer agreement this year between ASU and Goodfellow AFB for the B.A.A.S. degree programs. In June, a similar agreement was finalized that allows Air Force personnel with an associate degree to transfer credits from both academic and technical courses into the B.A.A.S. degree specialization in computer science.
